R. Kelly Trial begins

Robert Sylvester Kelly’s, commonly known as R. Kelly, trial began today facing multiple counts including racketeering, exploitation of children, kidnapping, and sex trafficking women and girls. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Kelly was previously acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008.

Opening arguments began today with the trial expected to last between six to eight weeks being overseen by US District Judge Ann Donelly
