Rapper YNW Melly appeared in court Friday morning for a status hearing after the judge declared a mistrial in his double murder case on July 22. The state intends to retry Jamell Demons for the murders of Christopher Thomas Jr., aka YNW Juvy, and Anthony Williams, aka YNW Sakchaser. The retrial is scheduled to begin October 2 with jury selection.
