Former NFL football player Travis Rudolph stands trial for allegedly opening fire at a group of people in Palm Beach County, Florida in April 2021, killing one and injuring another. Rudolph faces one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder. The former Florida State University and New York Giants wide receiver unsuccessfully tried to claim a “stand your ground” defense in the first-degree murder trial. Authorities said the shooting happened when four men confronted Rudolph at his Florida home following an alleged fight between the footballer and his girlfriend. Two of the men were shot: Sebastien Jean-Jacques was killed and Tyler Robinson was hospitalized but recovered.
After a teenage boy was shot and placed in the hospital, the Desoto, Texas, police are investigating.
The incident occurred in a parking space at the Corners Apartment Complex on Deborah Ave.
Authorities were alerted to the location by a “ShotSpotter System,” leading them to arrive at the scene quickly. They then found a 14-year-old boy who had been shot in the leg. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
After talking to witnesses, police learned that the suspect was a juvenile, wearing a white shirt and a green ski mask. That person left the area, headed westbound.
