Video Update: Deadly Shooting on 2200 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX

On December 20, 2023, at about 5:00 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2200 block of McKinney Avenue.
The preliminary investigation determined that when officers arrived, they found 46-year-old Roderick Butler shot on the sidewalk. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported Butler to a local hospital where he died.
The investigation determined Butler was shot by an unknown suspect who ran from the location, through parking lots, toward Maple Avenue.
This remains an ongoing investigation.
