NASHVILLE – Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified woman found Wednesday in a creek in the 4000 block of Fairview Drive. A passerby walking their dog discovered the remains. An examination at the Forensic Science Center today revealed the victim had been fatally shot.
The victim is black with short hair and appears to be in her 20s. She had prior brain surgery and surgery to her right arm. She was wearing black Adidas joggers with white stripes on the sides, a black coat over Father Ryan sweater, which was over a black Vanderbilt sweatshirt. She was also wearing a purple domestic violence awareness month bracelet.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the woman through her fingerprints. The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation. Her description does not coincide with current local missing person reports. She appeared to have died some days ago.
