‘The Evidence Will Speak For Itself’: Hannah Payne’s Defense Delivers Heated Opening Statement

Opening statements in the citizen’s arrest turned deadly murder trial began Wednesday afternoon inside a Georgia courtroom. Hannah Payne witnessed a hit-and-run crash before allegedly following the driver who was at fault and killing him, which she claims was in self-defense. Payne is being charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of the crime.
