On Wednesday morning, 40-year-old Kenneth Cunningham II was fatally shot in front if his apartment in Cobb County, Georgia.
Reports indicate that a woman’s ex-boyfriend killed Cunningham, her new boyfriend, after disguising himself as a delivery driver. Cunningham had been discovered dead outside of the leasing office after suffering from several gunshot injuries.
Bystanders stated that Cunningham had gone to the leasing office in regards to a package. However, it was found that the suspected assailant, Donovan Carter, had come to the apartment complex dressed as a delivery driver, to get Cunningham to come out of his residence.
As Cunningham went to retrieve his package, he was told by office staff that he didn’t have a package.
Just a few minutes after he left the office, Carter is said to have shot Cunningham five times.
Relatives of the victim had just traveled from Chicago to celebrate his 40th birthday. They became worried when they hadn’t heard from Cunningham and are now preparing for his funeral.
Carter has been charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
