FRESNO, Calif. – A woman and her boyfriend have been arrested in the horrific murder of a young woman and her infant child this past September, police say.
On Saturday, September 24, around 7:20 A.M., officers responded to the home in the 2500 block of South Fruit Avenue following a report of gunshots heard inside the home.
Responding officers arrived on scene and discovered 18-year-old Yanelly Solorio-Rivera and her 3-week-old infant daughter, Celine Solorio-Rivera, were murdered.
The teen mom and baby were both shot to death inside their bedroom. The mother was holding her baby when they were both killed, police said.
22-year-old Yarelly Solorio-Rivera, the sister of victim Yanelly, has been arrested and charged for the crimes. Her boyfriend, Martin Morales, has also been arrested for his role in the crimes.
At a news conference Thursday, police said the motive was “jealously and sibling rivalry.” Watch below.
A $25,000 reward had previously been offered in the case.
