Sinead O’Connor, the iconic singer known for her hit “Nothing Compares 2 U,” has passed away at the age of 56. A cause of death has not been revealed.
Throughout her career, she released a total of 10 studio albums.
Her mesmerizing rendition of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” earned her the top spot for the number one world single in 1990 at the Billboard Music Awards. Additionally, she won a Grammy the following year for her album “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got.”
In January, she faced the heartbreak of losing her 17-year-old son.
As she mourned the devastating loss, O’Connor’s management team issued a statement announcing the cancellation of all her scheduled performances for the remainder of the year.
