NORTH OGDEN, Utah – A Long Beach man has died after being caught on camera shooting and killing his estranged brother in North Ogden, Utah, according to police.
Jeffrey Roberts, 66, drove from California to Utah and allegedly shot and killed his brother Scott after a brief conversation at the front door of Scott’s home. Scott’s wife was also shot but survived and is currently hospitalized.
Neighbors called the police after hearing the gunshots. When the authorities arrived, Jeffrey began shooting at them. The officers returned fire, killing Jeffrey. He also reportedly used road flares to set the house on fire.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
The doorbell video of the shooting has been publicly released.
