Pre-K Teacher In Georgia Finds Gun In Severe Special-Ed Student’s Diaper Bag

EVANS, Ga. – According to the Columbia County School District, a teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary in Evans, Georgia, discovered a firearm in a student’s diaper bag on Wednesday.

The teacher, who was teaching in the severe special education pre-kindergarten class, immediately informed the school resource officer.

The gun was secured without any direct threat made against the school, staff, or students, officials said. It was unclear if the firearm was loaded.

The student’s guardian has been charged with reckless conduct.
