Police Report ‘Active Shooter’ Along Greenway in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, NC – Raleigh police on Thursday were on scene of an active shooter incident, the department said.

The scene is near the Neuse River Greenway near Osprey Cove Drive and Bay Harbor Drive.

According to WRAL, an off-duty police officer was killed and multiple others were transported to hospitals. The suspect remains at large.

“Residents in that area are advised to remain in their homes,” police said in a statement.

According to the city’s website, the Neuse River Greenway Trail is 27.5 miles of paved trail with views of the Neuse River.

No further details were available.
