WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police were responding to a shooting at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem on Wednesday. The 911 calls came in around noon local time causing a massive police response.
Local reports say multiple shots were fired and police confirm one person was injured. The suspect is at large.
“Mount Tabor High School is on lockdown,” the Winston-Salem Police Department wrote in an alert. “There has been a shooting on school property. We and the WSPD have secured the campus and are doing everything possible to keep students safe. We are actively investigating what happened and will share confirmed information when available.”
