The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office will not seek charges against a Des Plaines police officer who pursued an armed and violent bank robber into the City of Chicago and accidentally shot a music student in the process.

A security involved in the fatal shooting of Shalonda Anderson has been arrested and charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Sterlin Hammett, 30 was at XTC Cabaret on June 25 when an altercation turned deadly in the parking lot.
Officers responded to the scene at 8550 N. Stemmons Freeway shortly after 5 a.m..
Upon arrival they found Anderson suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
During investigation it was determined that a 26 year old female security guard fatally shot Anderson after being hit by the vehicle.
This investigation still remains ongoing.

Security Guard Charged In Connection With The Fatal XTC Cabaret Shooting
Two people have been arrested in connection to the death of a person found dead behind an apartment complex.
Officers responded to a dead body call Sunday morning around 7 a.m. on the 7200 block of Ferguson Road.
Upon arrival they discovered an unidentified person’s deceased body behind the building.
During the preliminary investigation officers determined the shooting did not happen at this location.
They also determined that Dairyon Johnson, 26, and Karmeka Burks, 25, were responsible for the shooting.
Both Johnson and Burks were arrested and charged with capital murder.

Two Suspects Arrested After Dead Body Was Found Behind A Dallas Apartment Complex
At 11:25 a.m. on Monday, the Dallas Police Department responded to a call of an injured child.
Officers arrived to the home located in the 2800 block of Silkwood Street with Dallas Fire and Rescue en route. Inside the residence first responders located a 5-year-old boy dead. The little boy’s body showed significant signs of trauma.
Witnesses were taken to the Child Advocacy Center for questioning as part of the investigation.
Dallas Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit will be leading the case.
