According to federal campaign contribution data, Judge Juan Merchan, who oversaw the criminal tax fraud trial of the Trump Organization and the former President’s arraignment, reportedly made a donation of $15 to President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.
The donation was made on July 26, 2020, to the Biden for President campaign committee, NBC News reported.
Two other donations of $10 each were also made to progressive groups affiliated with each other. All three donations were processed through ActBlue, an online donation-processing platform utilized by major Democratic campaigns and associated organizations.
Requests for comments made to the judge’s personal chambers and a spokesperson for the state court system went unanswered.
