Jacob Majok, 48, was arrested by Nashville detectives last Thursday after he threatened a teacher at Stem Preparatory Academy on Foster Avenue.
Police say Majok had gone to the school around 5:30 p.m. to pick up his daughter who had been given detention for not completing an assignment related to the book “PET,” a book about a transgender teen girl.
Police say Majok expressed his displeasure with the book’s content and warned that if the school continued to teach it, he would return with other parents and there would be “bloodshed.”
Majok specifically threatened the teacher who had assigned the book. He admitted that his statements constituted threats and that he would likely be arrested.
Majok is facing charges of making a threat of mass violence involving a school.
