Two residents of North Las Vegas have been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as the victims of a murder-suicide incident. The deceased were Magdalena Mercado, 43, and Jose Rodriguez Rivera, 44.
Mercado’s lifeless body was discovered on Saturday afternoon in the desert lot on her property, situated on the 600 block of East Hammer Lane.
The coroner’s office reported that she had been shot multiple times. According to the police, Mercado had gone to deliver medicine to her husband, from whom she had recently separated, when she was killed. The authorities believe that Rivera subsequently took his own life.
Since the property was located in an unincorporated area of North Las Vegas, the Las Vegas police were summoned to the scene. Rivera’s body was also discovered in the scene.
