Los Angeles (LAPD / News Release) – On December 5, 2023, Northeast Division uniformed officers received a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon suspect in the lobby of a Bank, located at 7300 of North Figueroa Street.
As officers arrived at the location, they met with the bank manager (victim), who identified the suspect, Forrest Perry, still seated inside the location. The victim also stated that Perry had threatened to shoot him. The officers detained Perry and handcuffed him without incident.
During the investigation, one of the officers was standing near Perry, who suddenly became agitated, and attempted to kick at the officer, which resulted in a Categorical Use of Force. During the use of force, the officer gripped the front of Perry’s neck and then released. While Perry remained agitated, officers controlled him, and escorted him out of the bank. Perry was placed under arrest for Criminal Threats and subsequently transported to Northeast Station for processing.
No officers, community members or suspect injuries were reported as a result of this incident. As a precaution Perry was seen by Metropolitan Detention Center Dispensary staff and medically cleared prior for booking.
Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
