As part of the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit filed against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems, an email from Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch to Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott was released on Tuesday.
In the email, Murdoch expressed concern about the ongoing negative attention the organization was receiving and suggested that hosts Sean and Laura may have gone “too far.”
“Still getting mud thrown at us! Maybe Sean and Laura went too far,” Murdoch wrote.
According to court documents obtained by The Washington Post, on Jan. 4, 2021, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson texted an unidentified Fox producer expressing his desire to reduce coverage of Trump.
“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights,” Carlson wrote, according to the documents. “I truly can’t wait. I hate him passionately.”
