“He Shot 46 Rounds.” Man With AR-15 Shoots Into Neighbor’s Home Over Barking Dogs

HOUSTON, Texas (HCSO) – On February 21, 2023, at approximately 1:18A.M., deputies responded to the 12700 block of Cedar Grove Ct in reference to multiple reports of shots being fired at a residence. The homeowners reported that they awaken by loud bangs at the front door followed by gunshots. The suspect demanded to be let inside the home and continued to fire gunshots through the front door and windows.

Upon deputies arriving to the area, a suspect vehicle was fleeing the location. A traffic stop was conducted and the passenger was observed to be in possession of multiple firearms and a fully loaded AR magazine. He was detained and identified as Russell Day, who was intoxicated. An AR rifle was located inside the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that Russell Day lives behind the victim’s home and stated he was upset that their dogs were barking all day.

Russell Day was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond and court information have not been set at this time.
