The prosecution in YNW Melly’s double murder trial presented the court with text messages they allege were sent by the defendant, Jamell Demons. In one series of messages, Melly allegedly asked his mother to buy him a legal gun. The text read, “I’d rather have a Glock 40,” after the sender was offered a .45 caliber firearm.
