Prosecutors kicked off opening statements in the sex therapist murder trial Tuesday. Hollywood Hills detectives believe Dr. Amie Harwick was murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, after a chance reunion between the two sparked an obsessive rage within Pursehouse. “She rejected his advances, she cut off all communication with him, so he punished her, broke into her house, and killed her,” Deputy District Attorney Victor Avila said.
