Ex-High School Teacher Arrested, Charged With Statutory Rape

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Last week, a former teacher from Hamilton County who has been charged with aggravated statutory rape was taken into custody.

As per a spokesperson from the Hamilton County Schools (HCS), Casey McGrath, 28, was suspended without pay from her position at Central High School in May. The suspension was related to allegations of inappropriate conduct.

She is no longer affiliated with the school district.

McGrath was apprehended on Friday as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.

At this time, it remains uncertain whether the charges against her are connected to her tenure at Central High School.
