BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gunfire erupted at the Mall of America Thursday, prompting the building to be placed on lockdown. Police say the shooting is an isolated incident and at this time, no victims have been loc ated.
“We are currently working an active incident inside Mall of America on the northwest side,” Bloomington Police said in a tweet. “Numerous officers are on scene. We have secured the scene at the Mall of America and can confirm that shots were fired. This is an isolated incident. The suspect fled the MOA on foot and officers are in the process of interviewing witnesses. At this time we have not located a victim.”

Police say the incident is not an ‘active shooter’ situation and a motive remains unknown.
