Bodycam: ‘Power Tripping’ Texas Cop Pulled Off Streets After ‘Buc-ee’s’ Traffic Stop

Bodycam footage shows an April traffic stop that led to an internal affairs investigation into Texas City police officer Scott Harrell. Christopher Shull said the “power tripping” cop was violating his rights during the stop at a “Buc-ee’s” gas station, looking for any reason to cite him for allegedly speeding through the parking lot and cutting through parking spaces on the private property. The incident gained notoriety after Shull posted the bodycam footage on his YouTube and Facebook accounts. Harrell can be heard telling Shull he won’t ticket him because he ran out of tickets. At one point, Harrell cuffs Shull and places him in the back of the cruiser before he releases him three minutes later. Shull was cited after another officer arrived with a ticket book. Shull tells the Law&Crime Network that he received a letter in the mail Friday that stated the citation was dismissed. Harrell remains under investigation on administrative duty.
