A pastor in Indiana made a confession to his congregation at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach. This is located in the city of Warsaw. He stated that he had committed adultery, almost 20 years ago.
However, a little while later, a woman and her husband took the stage. She said that she was 16-years-old when the pastor took her virginity on the floor of his office.
“You did things to my teenage body that had never and should have never been done,” the woman stated. A video of the woman saying this has been shared to social media.
Her comments came after Pastor John Lowe II, 65, ended the worship part of the service by requesting “forgiveness.”
“I committed adultery. It was nearly 20 years ago. It continued far too long and involved one person, and there’s been no other,” he said.
“I’ve been asked why did I wait so long to deal with it. The answer is there is no good answer. I told myself for years, silence served to protect everyone,” he added.
The pastor then disclosed that he would be “stepping aside.” This was after being met with claps when he introduced himself and following his confession.
The partner of the woman then asked that if they are loved, please allow them time to speak.
“For 27 years, I lived in prison- it was not 20 years,” the woman remarked.
She says she has had to be untruthful to keep the pastor safe and has had thoughts of killing herself. She said she “had not realized what had truly been done to her.”
“I was just 16 when you took my virginity on your office floor. Do you remember that? I know you do. I could give story after story to what you did to me,” she said as she addressed Lowe.
The woman added that she attempted to tell somebody back then. However, those around the pastor kept it a secret. She says that she was never provided counseling.
“…it’s another level when it’s a teenager….it happened for nine years. People have to be held accountable,” the woman’s husband said.
