19-year-old MacKenzie Shirilla, of Strongsville, Ohio, has been given a 15-year prison sentence after being convicted of killing of her boyfriend and a friend. This occured during a car wreck in 2022.
On August 14, Shrilla, who was 17 at the time of the deadly crash, was found guilty of murder, felonious assault, aggravated vehicular homicide, drug possession, and possessing criminal tools. This was in relation to the wreck that caused the death of her boyfriend, Dominic Russo and friend, Davion Flanagan.
The teen was accused of intentionally slamming her car into a wall as she drove 100 mph.
“She morphs from a responsible driver to literal hell on wheels as she makes her way down the street,” noted Judge Margaret Russo after watching a video of the wreck. “She had a mission, and she executed with precision,” she added.
A video appeared on social media where Shrilla is said to have posted before the sentencing hearing. There, Shrilla stated that drugs and narcotics hadn’t had an effect on her.
Although Shrilla survived the crash, she was discovered unconscious immediately afterwards.
She did have THC in her system over the legal limit; however, prosecutors decided against charging her with driving under the influence.
