25-year-old Shamaiya Hall, of Forney, Texas, has been indicted by a grand jury for capital murder. This is for the deaths of her three children, 6-year-old Legend Chappell, 5-year-old Alayiah Martin, and 5-year-old Ayden Martin. Additionally, was indicted for trying to kill her other two children, a boy, 4, and a girl, 13 months old.
On March 3, 2023, a case worker had gone to a residence where the five children had been living with a family member in the city of Italy.
That day, the case worker called authorities after believing that the children needed to be taken from the home. However, when police officers came to the location, close to five minutes later, they discovered that all of the children had been stabbed inside of the home.
It hasn’t been determined exactly why Hall had been at the residence.
Reports indicate that Ellis County will seek the death penalty in the matter.
