Melvin Townsend III has obtained a lawyer after he was seemingly punched in the head by Mike Tyson. The incident, that was recorded, occurred on a JetBlue flight on Thursday.
“Our client is a big Mike Tyson fan. When Mike Tyson boarded the plane, he became overly excited. At first, their interaction was cordial. At a certain point, Mr. Tyson clearly became agitated by an overly excited fan. He began to strike him in an excessive manner. This situation could have been avoided simply by contacting a flight attendant,” stated Townsend’s lawyer, Matt Morgan.
Tyson’s spokesperson said that Townsend had thrown water on Tyson in order to provoke him. Townsend denies that accusation.
After the incident took place, Townsend seemed to have blood on his head.
The San Francisco Police Department states that two individuals were detained that were a part of the incident. One person was treated for non-life threatening injuries. However, they wouldn’t cooperate with police.
At that time, Townsend wouldn’t press charges, and he and Tyson were let go.
On Thursday evening, later that night, Tyson was seen having a good time as he arrived to Eden Roc hotel in Miami. After starting his Tyson 2.0 bud line last year, he was set to be in Miami as he was the primary speaker at the Benzinga Cannabis Conference.
