A dangerous suspect has been found after claims that he tortured and sexually assaulted his former girlfriend. When the U.S. Marshals found him, he had several gunshot injuries, but it is unclear who pulled the trigger.
Dekenta Parchman, 30, had been wanted for beating and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend with a hot hair straightener, inside of her residence, for several hours.
The incident occurred at the end of July at an apartment in Van Buren Township, Michigan.
Investigators say that Parchman was drunk when he went to the woman’s apartment. He punched her in the face, hit ashtrays against her head, and violated her with a hot hair straightener. He is then accused of beating the woman with an extension cord and striking her on the head.
After three hours, the woman was finally able to break free and ran to a neighbor’s home to call police.
When police came to the scene, Parchman had already left in the woman’s car. She was hospitalized for several days.
A week following that, Parchman was discovered in a vehicle with seven bullet wounds. Authorities say that he been involved in a shootout.
On Tuesday, when Parchman went to court, he discussed those details.
“I got shot 7 times. I got bullet fragments in me. I need surgery. My leg is broken. They shot out my knee,” he said.
Parchman has a criminal record that includes unlawful imprisonment, drugs, and home invasion.
His bond was set at $250,000, no 10%.
