A Fort Worth Police Officer was indicted for unlawfully using police software to run background checks on two separate occasions.
Darrell Coker, 48, was indicted on a Breach of Computer Security charge on Monday after he allegedly used the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System to unlawfully run information on someone.
According to a complaint filed in April, Coker used the system and accessed it from a city computer twice during 2021.
Details about the person’s identity and relationship to Coker have not been released.
Coker was placed on unpaid suspension pending the outcome of the investigation.
