A two-vehicle car crash Wednesday evening claimed the lives of two people, a 34-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy.
Dallas County Sheriff’s Office along with Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-35E northbound, near I-635.
When they arrived, a pickup truck and a passenger car were located at the scene, crashed. Paramedics discovered a woman who was driving the pickup truck, deceased. Also in the pickup truck was a 7-year-old boy passenger who was transported to Children’s Dallas Hospital. He was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
Officials determined the 34-year-old woman driving the pickup truck was trying to switch lanes at a high-rate of speed when she crashed into another vehicle. The impact caused her to lose control and crash into a pillar.
The investigation remains ongoing.
