Ragan Moreno, a Dallas County public defender, was apprehended after authorities learned that she was having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.
The arrest by the Dallas County Sheriff’s office came last week after a detention officer saw Moreno spending an excessive amount of time with an inmate that she was not working for.
After an investigation, it was revealed that Moreno had a personal relationship with the inmate, using her Dallas County ID to be able to spend with the inmate. Additionally, Moreno is accused of using her ID to obtain criminal records of another person.
Moreno has worked for the county for 8 months.
She is facing charges of Abuse of Official Capacity, and her bond was set at $5,000.
