On Thursday, May 5, close to 9:10 p.m., the Grand Prairie, Texas, police department answered to a call of a robbery in progress. This was at a Dollar General store in the 1600 block of W. Polo Road.
Officers found the suspected robber inside of the business, suffering from a gunshot injury. He was taken to a medical facility where he was declared deceased.
Investigators learned that the suspect was approached by a customer, who was armed, as he was robbing the business and a worker. The patron, who has a concealed handgun license, shot the suspect. He told police that he believed his and the employee’s life was in danger.
The customer has been questioned by authorities and no charges are pending at this time.
The suspect’s name hasn’t been released yet as next of kin hasn’t been notified.
The investigation is continuing.
