95-year-old Clare Nowland was seriously hurt when she was tasered by authorities at a care home in Australia. She has now died.
Last Wednesday, police responded to a call about Nowland walking around the home, with a steak knife in her possession.
The 33-year-old senior constable who tasered Mrs. Nowland has been charged with assault and recklessly causing grievous bodily harm. He is now on paid administrative leave as an investigation is on-going.
Last week, officers stated that Nowland needed a walker to move around, and the officer deployed his taser as Nowland was slowly walking up to him.
She is thought to have sustained a fractured skull and a brain bleed after falling and bumping her head during the occurrence.
Now, many have spoken out, calling for the release of body cam footage and accountability in the matter.
